But the Target ones have the foot pedal that easily falls off. We have had ours for about 3 years now. It's so annoying but we needed one that was thin. I may upgrade to this one from Amazon. The pedal looks better built. And ours from Target is rusting.

I like the IDEA of these, but my husband has seen too many of these at a local return bin store because the linkages for the lids almost always have plastic somewhere in them, and it breaks, leading to just a lidded trash can (or worse if it's the hinge that breaks). The ones with just steel in the linkages are getting harder to find, even in more expensive ones.
