Meaning they can continue to manufacture and sell these as long as they were previously FCC approved for that model. We're seeing this in the drone space as DJI was rushing to get their last batch FCC approved before they clamped down.
Community Reviews
This TP-Link Deco tri band mesh system is praised for fast whole home Wi Fi, strong 2.5G performance, and easy setup. It can push near gigabit speeds across larger homes, handle many devices, and offers useful extras like an isolated 2.4 GHz IoT network, guest Wi Fi, VPN support, and solid port forwarding and IP reservations. The main caveat is reliability, with reports of satellites dropping offline, firmware frustrations, and some older printers or devices struggling to connect. A capable mesh option if your network gear and device mix fit its strengths.
Homes with smart plugs, cameras, and other IoT gear, because the isolated 2.4 GHz IoT network keeps those devices connected without cluttering the main network.
People upgrading from weak whole-home Wi‑Fi, because it can eliminate dead spots and raise speeds across a multi-story house.
Households with gigabit internet and lots of wireless devices, because the 2.5G port can push above 1 Gbps and the mesh stays rock solid with heavy device counts.
Wired-backhaul setups in larger homes, because the system is very stable and performs well when the nodes are connected by Ethernet or MoCA.
Buyers who need long-term reliability, because satellites can go offline and firmware updates have caused failures or blocked updates.
Homes with older printers or IoT devices, because the newer authentication and smart-connect behavior can keep them from seeing or joining the network.
Households already satisfied with Wi‑Fi 6 coverage, because the extra 2.5G and Wi‑Fi 7 features may not add noticeable value without faster internet or dead spots.
People expecting stronger range and speed than a high-end standalone router, because one comparison found the router delivered farther coverage and more consistent throughput.

I put the 2nd device in my bedroom with a passive cooled computer for my 2nd on site backup and it gets about 1.5gbps speed while wired to the 2nd device.
The 2.4Ghz network is getting kind of congested in my neighborhood so I may turn on the 5ghz + 2.4ghz channels for the IoT devices. But the fact that I can is nice.
Port forwarding works well. IP reservations work well. You can manually isolate devices if you think its doing something phishy. I paid $400 for it several months ago and while expensive, I feel like I'm getting my moneys worth out of it. I do however have many devices that are wifi 6 or 7 so it does benefit me directly. Anything on 2.4ghz is IoT devices.
