The important part of that article is: "Nor does it prevent retailers from continuing to sell, import, or market router models approved previously through the FCC's equipment authorization process," the commission adds."
Meaning they can continue to manufacture and sell these as long as they were previously FCC approved for that model. We're seeing this in the drone space as DJI was rushing to get their last batch FCC approved before they clamped down.

Very very slightly better specs on the Costco model, nothing I would expect anyone to ever notice in the real world. Maybe worth the extra $15 for the better return policy, though.

Bought these awhile back. They're awesome. My wifi 7 devices gets really fast download speeds. You can open a separate server for 2.4 ghz for your security cams / tv / smart devices so your main wifi isn't cluttered with devices. You can open a guest wifi. And you can sign into a VPN with your router through the app. There's probably more that I haven't discovered yet.

Yes massive jump. I upgraded to these from Google mesh gen 1. Google mesh could only handle like 600mbps speed etc...

I have this set, but the two device set, not the three device set. Its fantastic. I've moved my 'priority' hardware to 2.5g networking and all the wireless devices that matter are wifi 6 or 7. The Deco can set up an IoT network that is 2.4Ghz only and is isolated from the rest of your network. That was a big selling point for me. Not the ease of doing it but that fact that I could.

I put the 2nd device in my bedroom with a passive cooled computer for my 2nd on site backup and it gets about 1.5gbps speed while wired to the 2nd device.
The 2.4Ghz network is getting kind of congested in my neighborhood so I may turn on the 5ghz + 2.4ghz channels for the IoT devices. But the fact that I can is nice.
Port forwarding works well. IP reservations work well. You can manually isolate devices if you think its doing something phishy. I paid $400 for it several months ago and while expensive, I feel like I'm getting my moneys worth out of it. I do however have many devices that are wifi 6 or 7 so it does benefit me directly. Anything on 2.4ghz is IoT devices.

I have the CostCo version. They're setup with wired backhaul (Coaxial throughout the house, so I used MoCA to connect), and they've been very stable and very good to me.

I bought this kit as well as the Router TP Link Archer BE12000 Tri band to rest vs each other. The Router outperforms every time. The range alone on the router was 15-20% greater with the router, specially out in my backyard. I made sure I set up the Deco kit per the instructions and ultimately 2 nodes were constantly giving me 600-680 mbps dl and 300+ uploads, the last node would have terrible signal and stagnate at 10-13 mbps dl and 0.1 upload. The router is less expensive, has a better processor, better wifi antennas, and a true 10g inlet. Speed with router in most areas inside the house (3452 sqft home) 900mbps-1.2 G dl and 1G+ . uploads.

Same. I had a much older NetGear Orbi system that had constant issues. I bought 4 of these and have not had a single issue. I could not be more pleased - just got another identical system for my lake house.

I have the Orbi RBK852 from 2020 and the Costco version of this TP-Link 3-pack and my speeds are faster with the TP-Link.
