A few years ago, around 2021, before I reset my 2010ish account, I was contacted via email and offered certain amounts to post deals or upvote deals, so I know for a fact it happens. I still have the emails and posted screenshot once. Mods deleted and direct messaged me about it. They dont like this type of chichat that lifts the veil. Let's see if this gets deleted too. I've already been thinking that I might have to stop using the app. It's becoming more of a shopping app than a deal app. I have to go through way too many notifications even to find one truly interesting deal. Then what I actually want is buried in those notifications, or I don't see it since my app notifications max out.

SlickDeals was invaded by Chinese manufacturers offering incentives to posters and voters years ago. It's not a deals site any longer, but rather a marketing platform that happens to also have decent deals here and there.

Thanks, I didn't know to look for that - I picked up a similar umbrella (from this same company) in a previous deal for $15 and wasn't sure on the differences. It looks like the main difference is that the one I picked up does have a vented canopy (though idk if it's well designed tbh)... so maybe it'll hold up a bit better lol
