Recommend getting an i7 and 16GB; while memory is upgradeable to 64GB (2 slots), the cost of new memory these days is outrageous.

Yeah, these things aren't particularly fast, but I'll take one of these over a new entry level consumer laptop any day.
ETA: it's 5 years old, not 6.

Great deal. You could buy this and get through college easily. My college laptop in 2010 was a Dell with a 3rd-gen Core i5, 8GB RAM, and mechanical hard drive. I think it was like $600 used.

Able to buy HP i5 13th gen with 16gb ram for $250 from ebay. Looks new and still have 6 months of warranty left. Screen is not the best but if you looking for a one for school I'll look ebay for better deal.

Probably makes sense to get the 16 GB (2x 8GB) configuration right away since it's not that much more expensive. Solid laptop for the price.

Its the windows 10 that is killing me here. Windows 11 update failing to install on the HP target special from a few years back - cant get rid of the files, bogging me down. Why would they still offer it up with 10? Im looking because i cracked my case and have to steady balance to get the screen to come on and with this 10/11 issue, seems time to move on...

Just found out that TurboTax requires Win 11 to run this morning and I need to buy a laptop with Win 11 since my current one with Win 10 is not eligible for upgrade to Win 11. Found this deal and bought one today. Thanks!
