Definitely not a deal with that 256GB SSD. Although during holiday season, but we've had this with both 512GB and even 1TB SSD, for around this price in the past.
Better to wait for this to go further down.

I hate to say it but a MacBook Air 15" would be better than this if you don't require Windows. I hate that Microsoft copies Apple when it come to RAM and storage (not a lot and expensive to upgrade).
The 15" MacBook Air M516gb/512gb is $1102. For $200 more but will destroy this machine in performance and 256gb more storage.

Sorry not a great price considering it's an ARM chip that still have limitations on running Windows software.

Microsoft did not copy Apple on storage -- you can replace it with something bigger at whatever deal price you can find from Amazon. A Macbook, you live with regret for buying a forever-256GB laptop.

2.5K 120Hz 600 nit display is decent.

Open box Excellent is $747.

I agree, still does not justify the premium price for a meager 16GB RAM and 256GB SSD. Even for MacBook Air or Pro, in today's age and era, we are in bloody 2026, and these companies are still pushing the meager specs and still charging a premium price.
Weather its Apple or Microsoft, we should stop buying if the price is $700+, anything less than 24-32GB RAM and 1TB SSD.

The X2 chips should be coming out any time now, but $750 for a Surface laptop with X Elite really isn't bad if you're a fan of Surface Laptops. I don't disagree with you, but there are top brands (Apple and MS) and their name on it justifies a higher price. Mac people will die on the hill arguing the (now) $2200 for a basic MBP M5 Pro is worth it because, well...it's Apple!

Unfortunately customer service is virtually non-existent for Surface products.
