I liked it, a lot, but people should be aware its probably 3 hours at most. Basically a long movie that they split up into six really short episodes.

Yes, but you might be able to find a better deal on 1 month of HBO to do the same thing if you are never going to watch it again.

Purchased! I cannot believe HBO allows a show this good to exist in current day.

It's only 30 minutes per episode. If you binge watch it, it's going to go real quick. Wasn't my real cup of tea. I was expecting it to be more like the original House of dragons. It's totally different than that even though they're trying to tie it together somewhat, but I did watch it all.

GRRM has started that Knight of the Seven Kingdoms is almost exactly how he imagined it while he absolutely hates House of Dragons. He even removed himself from any association with the series. AKOTSK is absolutely fantastic, while House of Dragons is not very good at all. The time jumps and terrible dialogue ruins it.

This show reminds me of how GoT was in the early seasons, and in some ways better in regards to story-telling. Never watched House of the Dragon.

As much as I really loved parts of this show, it totality it wasn't worth my time.
Good cinematography? Yes.
Good acting? Yes.
Likeable characters? Yes. (loved Egg and Duncan)
Just the right amount of humor? Yes.
Completely unnecessary scenes like projectile diarrhea or full frontal of a cock that would make Mandingo jealous? Yup.

But the novella format just doesn't work for tv. The eps are too short, and have too much filler for only being 30 min. At the end of ep 06, I was asking - where did the rest of the the season go?

My 2 cents, unless you're a die hard fan or have money to burn, wait until the whole series is done, watch it in a day, and be done.

So is this a slickdeal or is HBO pulling a fast money grab? Your call.

That said, I still appreciate OP giving us the option.

It'll be ruined in season 2. Just look at the casting decisions for new characters.
