Motherboard details:
Quick Overview: https://storage-asset.msi.com/dat...WIFI6E.pdf
Manual: https://download-2.msi.com/archiv...nglish.pdf

Things to note:
The motherboard is MicroATX form factor.
It supports up to 3 m.2 drives (1 slot is on the rear of the motherboard), normally boards only support 2, and 3 is normally only on full size ATX boards.
It has a bios flash button, which allows flashing without booting.
It has onboard Wifi and has 5 fan headers. These are a lot of features that are often cut for smaller boards. Having the bios flash button is a huge boon as many motherboards didn't support newer cpus which got you in a situation of requiring a older cpu to flash the bios to support an newer cpu. Not a issue here.

I'm extremely tempted, but concerned about the impact of a single RAM stick.
And to add another stick of the exact kind, it looks like I'd be adding $240 which would put it not far off from the 7700X bundle .

If you check that reddit thread, there are people posting their experience with running a single stick. I'll go ahead and quote them here.

Quote from u/Jgsteven14 :
I purchased this bundle the last time it was at this price and paired it with the RTX 5070 from woot a couple weeks ago. Really happy with the resulting performance for the price. The single RAM stick doesn't seem to bother it in games or bottleneck the 5070 at the framerates I play at.
I'm building a PC for my Dad's retirement. It'll run with 16GB with the hope of adding matching stick down the line (though I debated having a family member order a 2nd bundle, then parting out the bundle to get a 2nd stick of ram for essentially free...)

Welp, today is the day I guess.

Gonna sell the ddr5 and use the 32GB 5600 DDR5 corsair vengeance sticks from best buy's $15 oopsie a couple years back. A little less speed (probably won't matter much with x3d) but twice the capacity and more cost efficient than selling the vengeance and buying another 16GB g skill.

This CPU pairs perfectly if you managed to snag that 9060XT 16GB woot had for $250 the other night. That's why I had been tracking this bundle and saw the price dropped $50 this morning.

As long as your GPU has 16gb of VRAM, there's really no need to add another stick of 16gb of ram. Especially for gaming

You and me both buddy! Can't believe I snagged that 9060; it comes tomorrow. This setup is replacing a XPS i7-10700 / 6650 XT combo. The 6650XT is getting sold and the XPS is replacing my 5300G office PC and getting a 1650 Super (which is in the 5300G PC) just to drive a 1440p/165hz monitor that I only use to make windows feel nice and smooth.

Yeah that GPU is/was insane value, so is the rest of this deal. That motherboard has more features/is better than it has any right to be.

I had first looked at just running AM4.... but the AM4 CPUs are just as much if not more expensive than the AM5 cpus due to the ram situation right now.... so going AM5 (and not being blocked from future upgrades), seemed like the better play, even if it is more painful in the short term. I doubt he's gonna press the cpu/gpu anyway, but I like the option considering I'm the one that's going to have to maintain/support it.

I wasn't even planning an upgrade until am6, but between tariffs, ai datacenters, and now the war, prices on all of this stuff is going to be even higher by the time am6 comes out. This deal hitting along with the ps5 price hike (I already have a ps5 pro, so I'm good there) was pretty much the nail in the coffin for me.

YMMV but some MCs offer you the ability to add another stick at a discounted rate

Yeah you should be able to get 150-200 locally since other people will want the RAM for their bundle. Might even be able to find someone else at your MC while you're there

I looked, but I think they removed that option in the past few months. It was good while it lasted though, as it gave you the same discount on a additional stick of ram.

I mean in person, not on the website. You would you need to buy it in store and ask then.

Oh good call. I'll ask tomorrow when I pick it up. I need to do a price match on a case for these components anyway. Hopefully Microcenter will match woot.com.
