This is one of those rare mini-amps that let you send most of the low frequencies to an active subwoofer, which greatly improves the sound of your speakers in the midrange and treble, affording you greater dynamics and headroom. The only thing it's missing is a USB input, but that's easily remedied with a simple USB-to-RCA adapter you can find for $10-30 on Amazon.

$95 is for the amp with 48V adapter. If you want to save a few more bucks, $77 gets you the amp with a 32V adapter.

Kind of pricey for what it does but it's technically 2.1ch not 2.0.

The 3.5mm output is pre-amp, only the two speaker post outputs are amplified. Stereo amp with an output for a powered sub but not a 2.1 amp.

I have several similar tpa3255 bluetooth amps and they are impressive. Can be had for <$40 if you already have a way to provide 36 or 48v power (I use my ryobi 40v batteries.) There is a dual chip version for around $65 that has 2 chips, one for stereo and one bridged for subwoofer.

Depends on what you are up to. I use them to make jobsite battery-powered bluetooth speakers, often using those weird automotive enclosures that have a sub and two full range drivers all in one cabinet, it is perfect for that. Or if you have a bookshelf system and an old car sub you can piece together a little home theater setup on the cheap.

I have one of these, works great. This is a good deal seeing as it comes with a 48v power supply. I would always recommend using a 48v 5a with any of these Class D TPA3255 chipset devices, gives you more headroom for bass and dynamics.

If you don't want to wait for the RSL mini-amp to come back in stock (ETA unknown), you could go with the Ayima A07 but you won't get the High Pass Filter.

thanks. where is this RSL mini-amp found oos? just so i can track it. how much is the RSL mini-amp?
The ones with HPF, they can be set for use without subwoofer, right?
if i am good with 100w, how does the TPA3116 chip compare for sound quality?

Unless you are a certified loudness freak AND have low impedance & low sensitivity speakers, don't worry about watts per channel specs, they're meaningless in real life normal use.

btw, you are highly unlikely to find anything with a HPF for under this Douk's $95. (I originally thought you were asking about a different mini-amp with HPF that costs $133 on sale.)

thanks. i may try the Douk then since RSL is more expensive (and always oos). i do have some speakers/subwoofers sitting around.
I do have some TPA3116 BT amp on hand as well. wonder if its really worth the upgrade to Douk (i am not an audiophile).

I'd say yes, simply because bass management is really a game-changer. Wish it was a standard feature of every amp and receiver. Even the higher dollar integrated or stereo amps these days often don't have it for some stupid reason.

not sure how loud this thing is supposed to get. i didnt have casting volume on max 100% earlier so its better now.
i have another one coming so will compare to see if this is how its supposed to be. i guess this thing likes source volume to be max.

ALWAYS have casting volume max (it's usually max by default) and use the amp's volume knob to adjust to your liking.
