Audio Products International (API) was a prominent Canadian speaker manufacturer (established in 1973) that developed and manufactured Mirage, Energy, and Athena Technologies speakers. The company was known for its in-house design and testing facilities and frequently collaborated with Canada's National Research Council in studies to determine measurable qualities listeners attributed to good sounding speakers. API's anechoic chamber was legendary.

API was acquired by the Klipsch Group in 2006 and Mirage and Athena Technologies were soon eliminated. (Klipsch Group also acquired Jamo at this time.) Energy and Jamo were acquired by Rayleigh Labs ( established in 2017 in Shenzhen, China) in late 2024.

I can't believe you can still find a deal on these. I thought the last run from Fry's a decade ago was it.
These have been the best speakers I've owned, and they really are good any everything. All music types, HT works great, dedicated stereo with or without a sub, records, lossless hifi, etc.
The best thing about this speaker line is the great detail you get but without fatigue. They have a warmer sound that never gets tiring, and use their full range to represent detail well.
I have much more expensive setups since my original purchase, but I still use the RC-70s in my nicer stereo system, also paired with Marantz.

Do you really think that magnat and rc70 are comparable? If that's the case, the 2 magnat 2002 towers deal for $300 that's still available is the better buy, espectially if you don't need all 5 speakers.
Some people just like to pull random speculations out of their backside, especially if it reinforces their salesman's narrative of "you get what you pay for" so they love to talk down and cast doubt upon any speaker deals that involve spectacular price-to-performance like this one.

Reading through this 2024 announcement of the sale of Energy and Jamo to Rayleigh Labs. (China) It could well be that Rayleigh was doing the manufacturing of Energy speakers when Klipish moved production to China in the early 2000's. So I suspect this is new production. Tarrifs and all, pretty amazing pricing, just wonder if any shortcuts where taken compared to those made when Klipish / Audivox was the owner?

Voxx Jettisons Jamo & Energy Brands as It Tries to Stop the Bleeding - Strata-gee.com https://share.google/Na5rAfX8qkz0MQbNz

Specifically this paragraph MAY indicate Rayleigh was making Energy speakers before buying the line from Klipish / Vox

"It turns out that both of these companies (Rayleigh / Cinemaster) are long-time suppliers to Voxx/Premium Audio Company. Rayleigh Labs, PAC says, "is…one of the most significant R&D and manufacturing partners of the PAC group." And Cinemaster "has been the distribution partner for all PAC brands for more than two decades."

Imo sure, shouldn't be a surprise, it's not an overall drastic difference.

IF you were to blindly listen to them side by side after proper implementation.
You would favor one over the other, wouldn't be an obvious answer imo.
Adding the cost makes that choice exponentially much more complicated imo.

Many other factors go into this but anyone claiming they know which is better or lousy as a universal choice has an agenda.
Especially if they have never actually heard them before!

I would say just enjoy them. When you get them unboxed, I'd love to see some pictures of the front and the cones (without the grill) to see how they look.
confirming these are indeed new production. I took a look at one of the tweeters ( model # 5DR//53118 )and the production date is 2548, setting it to November of 2025. They are also rated at 4 ohms, instead of 8 ohms of older production. ( comparing to this ebay listing https://www.ebay.com/itm/38950278...olid=10050 )

March 11, 2015. I still have the pickup email from Fry's haha. It doesn't have the price though so I don't know what I paid for them, I was trying to find that the other day.
I bought my set around the same time, I'm pretty sure the deal back then was $298/ea.

how do these compare to the klipsch RP-8000F IIs / RP-600M IIs ?
Very similar sound. I like the Energy sound better, but both brands sound almost identical. I have/had both - combined with different receivers over the years. The Klipsch are 8" these Energy are 6.5" - the bass on the Klipsch is fuller. I run both without a subwoofer.

Why would you do that, the CF1 sound warmer. Very nice sound but the CF1 were a lot more expensive than these basic Energy speakers. I have a room with in-wall THX Ultra2, almost twenty years and I still don't have the urge to replace them.
At one moment I had 6.5" Energy Veritas and Klipsch RP62, and I kept the Energy. They sound identical to me.

Does any one know where to get the wall mount (macro mount) for the rc-10s? Those have been out of stock for many many years. Bought my rc-10 and lcr in 2009 and going strong.

Been running these for about 2 weeks now. Upgraded my RC-30 fronts. Already had the LCR and the RC10 is still in box. These sound fantastic! After 17 years with the RC-30 I can say that these sound very very similar but just a smidge bigger and clearer. Quality speaker. Super happy to have these now. What a deal!

If your Jamos are S8 series the RC line is certainly a step up if this new production is faithfully to production when Klipsch owned the line.

The performance on those Jamos is pretty good for the cost.
The weak spots(but adequate) are center(81) & sub.

Both properly implemented, IF it's an upgrade/step up in sound performance, it's an incremental one ime.
Whether it's worth $800 would be personal choice after listening to both imo.

Yes, especially if you are not crazy about the Jamo brightness. Ignore the usual snobs claiming this is a sidegrade.
