I listened to these things 20 years ago. They're still being made?

I have been using the rc-70s for the past decade hooked up to a Marantz. I love listening to music especially at low volumes. We have young kids and feel like i hear all of the detail without bothering others. When i do make then loud they dont feel tiring and you actually want to keep increasing the volume!

I can't believe you can still find a deal on these. I thought the last run from Fry's a decade ago was it.
These have been the best speakers I've owned, and they really are good any everything. All music types, HT works great, dedicated stereo with or without a sub, records, lossless hifi, etc.
The best thing about this speaker line is the great detail you get but without fatigue. They have a warmer sound that never gets tiring, and use their full range to represent detail well.
I have much more expensive setups since my original purchase, but I still use the RC-70s in my nicer stereo system, also paired with Marantz.

Wow, this brings me back to the Fry days. I got a bunch from there. Still have my RC-70's, LCR's, and RC-10's! Great speakers especially for this price. As others mentioned, I had no clue there was stock or these are still being made. Ever since Klipsch's parent company bought energy I thought they stopped.

Generally the klipsch speakers, with their horn tweeters, are better for movies, also being 2 ways. These energy are 3 ways and have a softer tweeter so are great for music. FWIW I have these in my front room for music, and a klipsch setup for my home theater.

So these are out of production, are these new old-stock or refurbished? Would there be any warranty? I'm interested.

Interesting, must be old stock and I mean old. Wondering if there is even warranty service available? I still have two RC-70's new in box from the last Fry's close out. Also some RC-10's, 10S.3 sub and the Take 5 system. I always have been happy with their speakers other than my ESW-V8 sub that died with probably less than 100 hours on it.

It's been in the box for 10-12 years and for $hit and giggles I opened up the plate amp a couple weeks back to have a look at the "BASH" amp. Nothing obviously burned / bulging (caps) but for $25 I'm replacing most all the caps and a couple voltage regulators with high quality Japanese components. Crossing my fingers. Worst case I'll get a $50 Fosi mono amp and by-pass the plate amp. The ESW-V8 (Veritas Line) is leagues better than the 8" Take sub.

Just curious, how much was this bundle closed out at Frys? I am still using the klipsch rf82ii/rc262 closeout from Frys.

I thought 3 way are better than 2 way for movies as well (particularly for LCR).

No idea about the bundle, or if this bundle was available from Frys, but the pair of RC-70's was dirt cheap $125 ea or something around there.

I am still shocked and temped by this set, though I have absolutely no need for them. The only thing keeping me from buying a set to keep is that technically I got a better deal in ~2015 (likely the same price after inflation). Also because my theater room is full, and I have multiple stereo sets in storage right now. But goddamn do I love these speakers.
For those not familiar, the Energy RC line made use of acoustic research that was subsidized by the Canadian government, or a CA university/research firm that I can't recall. At the time, this benefited all the major CA brands and they went on to produce some fantastic speakers from Energy, PSB, and Paradigm. I compare my RC-70s to my friend's Paradigm Titans from the same era, honest speakers with a laid-back signature. We both use Marantz equipment, though, so the high roll-off may be playing a part. I never got my hands on a nice set of PSBs to test, but I imagine they do well, and have a similar fiber(often kevlar) weave to their woofers.
