Project Farm did a fairly in-depth Youtube comparison of popular power stations in this category including the Segway and the Oupes (I always seem to get dinged by SD for linking directly to external websites - just search YT for "Project Farm Best Power Station"). If you can sit through the entire 20+ minute comparison and tolerate his somewhat repetitive, grating voice narration, PF does a very good job comparing the Seway to its competitors. The final chart at the end (20:57), shows that he rated the Jackery the best, although it cost 3x the Segway's $499 price (at the time). He judged the best "budget" model to be the Ecoflow at $699.

But the Segway acquitted itself quite well across a broad range of tests. And had it been available for this $293 sale price at the time of the review, it would have (IMHO) stood out as an unusually good buy - as long as your needs don't require the absolute highest capacity, shortest charging rate, or purest sine wave power delivery. Noteably, it also worked as a competent UPS for computers.

Sounds pretty on par with the OUPES Mega 1 that's been hovering around this price point for a while. It's the same LiFePO @ 1024Wh, 27.8lbs but a slightly lower 2000W output.

Any experience with operating it under freezing temperatures? Debating between a power station/solar and digging a long trench to my sheds. Mostly needed for lights and occasional use of a table saw and etc. thanks for any feedback

Jackery has a different input on my brothers than my EcoFlow and Bluetti, which use XT60 input for solar. Haven't looked at the Segway yet

I have this Segway unit.
The Oupes Mega 1 is on sale right now for $299 and it's better in every way.
  • It's lighter.
  • Better solar inputs. up to 75v vs 60v. This is important because you can series 3 panels(most smaller panels are around 22v voc).
  • The best thing about the Mega 1 is the easy DIY expansion battery. Any 48v battery can be a expansion battery. Use ordinary MC4 pins to create cables to the 48v battery.
Oupes is in the power station business.
Segway is not. They haven't come up with anything new for 2 yrs. I think they are just clearing these out.
