Denon's AH C830NCW looks like a compact, stemmed pair best suited for music listening, with generally praised sound quality and a price that lands well below its usual roughly $160 level. The earbuds are also appealing as a backup or spare set, especially for car use, and the fit can make ANC feel more effective when the seal is right. The main knocks are older Bluetooth 5.0, short 4.5 hour playtime, IPX4 water resistance, and no app, equalizer, or wireless charging support. A decent low cost option if you mainly want sound over extras.
Common Questions (5)
At $26.25-$29.99, it is a solid value if you want a budget backup set and care most about music sound quality. It is less compelling if you want best-in-class ANC, app support, or newer features like Bluetooth 5.3/5.4, and some shoppers point to better-spec alternatives in the same price range.
No app support and no wireless charging are listed for this model. It also lacks an equalizer and other common extras found on newer earbuds, which is part of why it is priced like a basic budget set.
Yes, its strongest use case is music listening, with sound quality described as the main strength. It is a 2021 design and is less compelling for non-music uses if you want top-tier ANC, app features, or call-focused extras.
Yes, it uses Bluetooth 5.0. That is older than the 5.3/5.4 radios common in newer earbuds, so it may be less appealing if you prioritize connection stability and current-gen specs.
Battery life is about 4.5 hours per charge, which is short compared with many newer earbuds. That makes it less attractive for long listening sessions unless you mainly want a compact spare pair.

and other brands on that price range offer all of those feature plus more:
some have google fast pair, which is becoming common, some have wireless charging, some have fast charging cases.
also, because of BT5.0 and because of the small shape of the buds, battery life must be horrible on these.
I actually prefer stemmed earbuds. I feel like with they have fewer charging issues than the ones where the charging contacts are constantly rubbing directly against your earfold and picking up oils that way. I also feel like the stems are basically room for a slightly larger battery and antenna.
i guess i dont have that issue now, because i constantly wipe them with alcohol wipes.
but i think i did get the issues you mention back before i started doing that.
i get these tiny alcohol wipes from walmart and clean my earbuds about every week, i clean the gummy part, and the contacts (alcohol doesnt mess up the contacts)
i keep the alcohol wipes next to my qtips because i usually clean my ears and earbuds at the same time.
also, i feel like stemmed earbuds fall off more easily, (depending on the brand, some are better shaped than others, but none have stayed as well as my ma10pro) and they also get knocked out when im changing my shirt.
but i can see what you mean with the room for battery and antenna as well. again, it also depends, i had some stemmed earbuds with horrible battery life. the ones from amazon (the amazon brand) were HORRRIBLE. probably the worst earbuds i have ever owned.
1) 4 stars is NOT a good rating on the earbuds department. with so much competition you need at least 4.5 stars
2) they have NO STANDOUT FEATURES no app support, no stated driver size, no dynamic driver, no stated ANC rating, no bluetooth info, and only 1px4
3) generic design, generic and large case. no brand recognition
4) possible fake price on amazon and fake reviews.
even at 26 bucks it is not a deal. there are better deals out there:
-
CMF Buds 2a: - $24 - great sound - great reviews (4.5) - recognizable brand - 12.4mm dynamic drivers - 42db ANC - APP support - equalizer - google fast pair - BT 5.4 - ipx55 - innovative case design
-
baseus BP1 - $17 - great sound - great reviews (4.5) - recognizable brand - 12mm dynamic drivers - 43db ANC - APP support - equalizer - bluetooth 6.0 - ipx55 - small case
I was just googling and reading reviews for these Denon units on Audio websites and forums and seemed to be well received. So for less than 30 bucks, they seem worth it if they have decent audio quality.
I already have airpods pro 2s and 3s. Just buying these as a backup in hopes the audio quality is good.
EDIT:
Also, no brand recognition?

I have the baseus BP1 and honestly they're kinda trash. Basically what you'd expect for 20 bucks though. Like something you'd get from a gas station.
