The buy one get one is a very good deal. I wish they had more options though. I already own a dedicated EGO trimmer, but I want to get a multi head system.

This EGO 56V trimmer bundle stands out as a strong battery and charger deal with a free attachment, especially for anyone building a multi head setup. The attachment choice adds real value, with interest in the edger, pole saw, hedge trimmer, brush cutter, and snow brush, and the battery alone is treated as the expensive part of the package. The trimmer itself is described as a solid upgrade from older 40V and aging EGO gear. Main caveats are the high standalone battery cost and the fact that the bundle makes the most sense if you actually want one of the attachments. A practical pick for expanding into EGO tools.

homeowners who already own an EGO trimmer and mainly want a specific multi-head attachment (like a snow brush, edger, bristle brush, or pole saw) because commenters said the trimmer itself is fine but the deal's value is in getting the attachment they were waiting for.
TheTechTempest TristianX dhwhitworth Ascender
EGO upgraders who are trying to avoid overpriced standalone batteries because commenters said the battery/charger is the core value of these combo deals and that batteries bought separately are "wayyyyy too pricey," making tool+battery bundles more essential.
amploud hallen1007 BlueGorilla7237
buyers who want to maximize the discount by choosing the most expensive "free gift" option and returning what they don't need because commenters confirmed you can return either item and that the discount is structured so keeping the trimmer and getting the hedge trimmer yields the greatest discount.
Mattcc22 hallen1007
people planning tree work who need reach for high branches because one buyer said they were upgrading an ~8-year-old head and specifically planned to use the pole saw attachment to get high up, then use their chainsaw for the trunk portion.
twinkie57
people who only use certain attachments occasionally (like pole saw once a year) and want to decide between attachments based on frequency because one commenter was weighing pole saw vs hedge trimmer usage counts and considering selling an unboxed pole saw attachment they already had.
per4manz

shoppers who don't specifically want an attachment and just need a dedicated trimmer because commenters said they already own a dedicated EGO trimmer and only wanted the multi-head system/attachments, implying the deal is less compelling if you're not chasing an attachment.
TheTechTempest TristianX
buyers who are trying to find the same low price everywhere without checking local signage or price-match options because commenters noted the price can be higher in some areas and advised checking in-store signs and relying on Lowe's price-matching if signs weren't updated.
trieudoahong StrongCable132
buyers who are only looking for an edger and don't want to deal with the multi-item "free gift" structure because multiple commenters focused on whether the free attachment can be returned for credit and discussed choosing/returning items to make the math work.
eIplbe Mattcc22
people who already bought the dedicated trimmer recently at a higher price because one commenter said they bought last week for $380 with no bonus attachment and were doing a return/rebuy to take advantage of the $359 + attachment deal.
amploud

The deal can work well for shoppers who already own an EGO trimmer and mainly want specific attachments like the edger or pole saw.
dhwhitworth Ascender
The buy-one-get-one attachment offer can be a very good way to expand into a multi-head system.
TheTechTempest
The pole saw attachment can help reach high branches for planned tree work when the existing trimmer head needs replacement.
twinkie57
The free-attachment promotion can allow returns, which can maximize the discount by choosing the hedge trimmer option.
hallen1007

The deal's value can be limited if you do not specifically want the included attachment heads.
TristianX
Battery cost can be a major downside of EGO systems, which makes combo deals important for keeping overall spending manageable.
amploud
Standalone EGO batteries can be priced very high, which can make future upgrades expensive if you do not plan around tool-and-battery bundles.
hallen1007
Price can be time-sensitive, since some shoppers report needing to act quickly when the $359 deal is available.
StrongCable132

Common Questions (4)

The best choice depends on what you need, but the hedge trimmer gives the largest discount because it is the most expensive option. Other shoppers specifically wanted the edger, pole saw, snow brush, bristle brush, or brush cutter, so the deal is most useful if you already have a use for a particular attachment.
TristianX dhwhitworth Ascender twinkie57
Yes, especially if you want to move into the multi-head system or need a specific attachment. Several buyers already had a dedicated trimmer and still bought this bundle for the pole saw, edger, brush cutter, or other attachments, then planned to sell the extra trimmer or powerhead.
TheTechTempest Ascender twinkie57 StrongString1278
Yes. Both items are discounted together to equal the value of the item that was supposed to be free, so you can return either one for credit. If you want the biggest discount, keep the trimmer and battery/charger and choose the most expensive attachment, such as the hedge trimmer.
Mattcc22 hallen1007 OrangeMustang772
Yes. The battery and charger are the core value, and the included trimmer or attachment is effectively the bonus. That matters because EGO batteries are expensive on their own, so combo deals can be the cheapest way to build out the system.

I was about to buy it last week as well, but I was still hesitant. Glad I waited, as this deal is a good one. I also got the 30" mower as my new home is a 1/2 acre with a small burm in the back. Thinking about doing the deal again and getting the pole saw attachment and then returning just the powerhead with trimmer attachment.

I'm in the process of upgrading my equipment from Green Works to EGO and so far I'm very pleased. The only negative I can see is the cost of the batteries so finding combo deals like this is essential.

The batteries when bought stand alone are wayyyyy too pricey. Most of the time it's better to buy the tool with battery, and try to sell the unused tool to someone. I got a friend who needs certain tools but not the batteries so we are going to split cost on some items.

Any experience with the pole saw attachment or the hedge trimmer? I have the aluminum version of the pole saw attachment (psa1000) that I got on clearance awhile ago and is still unboxed (don't have multi head right now). Trying to decide between the two (I can always sell the psa1000 and old integrated trimmer), especially since I would only use the pole saw once a year and the hedge trimmer maybe 3 times (have a corded hedge trimmer).

Just got this and the edger attachment to replace my 10 year old 40v Black & Decker trimmer....it served me well but was time to be replaced and this happened at the right time. Although I did see the trimmer/main unit and battery were made 12/2024.
Will try to remember to grab their snow brush attachment if it pops up, hopefully this line up isn't EOL.

I bought the dedicated 56w trimmer return for 100. So far so good. I'll upgrade when I need more attachments

That's such a bummer for folks. I was really lucky and got mine on the 30th while it was still at $359. At least I know for next year you gotta pounce ASAP or they hike up the price. Might be worth it to swing by your local store and see if they swapped out the signs yet or not. Since they'll price match it to the lower price if they haven't.

Are you able to return the "free gift" for credit? If so, could get the hedge trimmer attachment since it is the most expensive option and return it if not needed for $239 it looks like. I need the edger attachment which is only $169. Anyone know for sure if that would work?

Yes, you can return either of the two items. They discount both items to a total of the item that was supposed to be free. So yes, tif keeping the trimmer and head, then get the hedge trimmer as it will give the greatest discount.

Same situation I want to get the snow brush attachment but don't need another trimmer

I already got the multi-head with trimmer, but went ahead and got this for the pole saw attachment. I'm going to just sell the trimmer, and so will have gotten the pole saw basically for free

I only needed an edger today lol

got the IQ 17" weed eater and edger pkg for 388 otd
I was really tempted to try to get the hedge trimmer to use them anyway/upgrade and "worth more", but I already had an old ego trimmer, but the new technology for the weedeater and the bigger battery in that pkg vs edger one still convinced me to grab that

Having a hard time justifying spending 300+ on a new trimmer.
And can I return the free tool to get a refund? If not I could juat get the edge one and keep it, I usually just use my trimmer for edging as well.
Thanks

They discount both items? So if you returned the hedge trimmer what would you get credited back? $239?
