The saw is fantastic, but you need to love it for what it is. We arent clearing trails or working a large hardwood property. We got this for the convenience of a chainsaw without having to deal with a small 2-stroke engine. We heat a portion of our house with a woodstove and essentially scavenge downed trees from FB marketplace and around the neighborhood. It will buck logs no problem. I think often people who complain about electric saws do not keep their chain sharp. A gas saw will eveltually gum a tree to death with a dull chain. An electric saw will do the same, but you'll be burning through batteries left a right and getting frustrated.
It is an Oregon chain and bar, just relabeled as DeWalt. I bought a 16" bar and chain to make it a little easier to use for smaller stuff. It swaps out very easily.
I'd recommend having at least 2 extra batteries. 60/20v 12amp, at least. There are often many on FB marketplace, and I live in a small town.
That's way heavier than my 59cc Echo CS-590 Timberwolf.
