I would personally go with one that has more reviews. this one only has 61 reviews.
They all range around the $30 - $35 price range so not a deal

You would need to at least double these up for any chance of privacy... and don't use their zip ties, they deteriorate quickly in the sun.

How is something like this for preventing plants on the other side of the fence from growing through? Obviously it's not going to be perfect but right now the whole fence has stuff growing through the links and dropping seeds on our side, looking for anything that will at least slow that down.

It should. It's a lot sturdier than it looks. Mine has been up for 4 years now and even the zip ties haven't deteriorated yet.
