Bought one of these earlier. Sturdy enough to actually hold and support my tools. No buyer's remorse!

A friend of mine ripped slots into some PVC pipe and screwed them to the bottom of the underside of his bench. The tool body sits inside the PVC and the handle sticks out the slot. A 10 foot piece of pipe is only a few bucks and can make a dozen holders

Am I the only one who worries that having one of these would be like a candy shop to a thief if they were ever able to access it? As such, I keep various tool in various bags stashed all over my house and garage.

Apparently these are for people that own eight of the exactly same drill.

I tried one in this style with the shelves that unfold like that and I could not get them to stay completely flat. I ended up returning it for one with a vertical brace in the middle which gives extra support for the shelves and an extra mounting point to the wall. Entirely possible mine was just a dud, so YMMV.

That actually happened to me. Some scumbags broke into my garage and grabbed every DeWalt tool that I had hanging on the wall or sitting on a workbench.

It looks like the horizontal bars are in two pieces - are they supported in the middle at all? Seems it would sag a ton

Yeah, it looks like they're hinged for some reason? Like did they do that just so it would fit in a smaller box?

I bought one of these from an earlier deal. Yes, it's a weird hinge in the middle and I think it's primarily so that it folds into the box. It is a solid piece, but I admittedly haven't gotten to mounting mine in the garage yet so I can't speak to how sturdy it actually is.

Yeah, one concern I have with this one is leaving the batteries out in the garage where they're going to get wrecked by our summer heat (~110° in peak of summer, but it'll be cooler inside in the shade). That means the tools would be hanging on the rack with the battery terminals exposed upwards when not in use. Moisture fortunately isn't much of a concern here, but I expect they're going to collect dust. I'll probably hang a light rag over them to protect them, so a minor inconvenience.
