Never purchase a competitor to a longstanding proven product unless you can prove it will be around for awhile. Most of these fizzle out and get no future support.
I don't hate this statement, but the Stream Deck imo is way overpriced and also owned by Corsair which many have mixed feelings about.

just find used stream decks online. people sell the mk2 for like 55 every once in a while. I have all sizes: the mini, neo, mk1, mk2, and the XL (32 buttons). I use the neo on my home desktop and at work. Constantly have to type your email address? push a button, load up various programs, or need to do repetitive tasks over and over, set up a macro! Stream decks are great, but they are pricey at retail. I bought all of mine used except for the XL, i got 3 new XL for $200 from some guy who bought a pallet of random electronics and just wanted to unload them fast.
Touch Portal and an old phone/tablet. The full license unlock is something like $14 iirc, you can it for free with limitations. Takes a minute to customize to your liking but I've been using it for ages without a problem.
I don't have any investment into any particular method, but if you are considering this, I would VERY STRONGLY recommend having a look at touchportal which is a fantastic phone app (ios or android) that turns your phone or tablet into a stream controller - the software interface works really similarly to how streamdeck works, but it's way less expensive. there's a free demo that's only limited in the number of buttons you can use, but the full pro version is only $14. they also have really active development, and a really active discord server full of folks who are super helpful. - there are also a bunch of free extension modules that give it even more control capabilities if you want to control other software. imo streamdeck is way overpriced, the ampligame looks pretty similar and less expensive, but still kind of expensive for what it is.
