I found this online re water temp. Might be worth a shot (pun intended). Go to page 11 here - https://www.kitchenaid.com/conten...1-revc.pdf

Also this guy did an excellent review. He has some critical feedback, but bear in mind that this was assuming it is $400-$500 USD, so some of the negatives would maybe be overlooked at this price point. Overall, he speaks pretty well about the machine. Also, he said he is reliably extracting at 200 deg fahrenheit which is pretty much perfect (195 to 205 is the ideal range), and he says you can adjust water temp. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MYhslsN2ecY

Any coffee aficionados know how this holds up compared to other entry level espresso machines?

It's an expresso machine. Not an espresso machine.

Bought in december - our first espresso machine. Was happy before I found info on reddit that it doesnt produce 195F temperature for espresso (172 only). Not sure if it's true.
Milk froster is unnecessary at all.

I have this and several other espresso machines. Its an excellent espresso machine. You will need a good grinder for espresso.

As for the comment about the water temp, its got a pid ( two if i recall correctly ). You can set the water temp to match your preference or in reality the roast of your coffee.

These are frequently $100-$200 and are very cheap on eBay, absolutely no one paying close to $600 for this thing
