Seriously, for most needs LibreOffice https://www.libreoffice.org/ and OnlyOffice https://www.onlyoffice.com/ work great now.

They're both free so why not try them?

Tip: OnlyOffice has a simpler more MS Office like layout but it is more limited in functionality compared to LibreOffice.

Can you please tell me a config on how to install their visio? I got the config from that site for how to install office, but they don't give one for visio. It sucks they don't tell us how to do it, and I do not want to trust their exe because it's not signed by microsoft, it's signed by some weird third party business in germany, I made a comment about it but i think it got deleted.

So if you are buying it these websites, you are just paying for pirate. You can do it yourself for free anyway.

I downloaded LTSC 2024 , I have installation of but it was phone activation key. Phone activation number no longer works. How can I register it, over the internet? I tried but giving me problem then.

Can I transfer, open and change existing Excel files I already have created on a super old version of Office in either LibreOffice or Only Office? I'm not a power user by any means just use it for the occasional Excel or Word document. I'm getting ready to retire the old PC that has the ancient Office on it so LO or OO would probably work for me.

Probably fine. Both open many MS office files (oo default format is docx xls). They're both free, try it and see....

If you're a student or use the programs for collaborative work, definitely go for the real deal. The features outside of the basic stuff are not 1:1. In fact, if you dive deep, they explicitly say that they don't aim to be 1:1 to the Office tools.
