Definitely not a game for everyone, but the story is really interesting and weird and it's super chill, almost a comfy horror game if that makes sense. The exploration reminds me a little bit of Red Dead Redemption 2 which is another of my favorite games.
Community Reviews
Death Stranding 2 builds on the first game with more combat, a larger map, and more gameplay depth while keeping the package delivery core. The story, characters, visuals, and world building draw strong praise, and the sequel is described as more fun and improved in most areas, with a memorable final battle. It still leans into the series' strange, cinematic style and partly retains the walking and transport feel, so the concept remains niche. At $29.99, it lands as a strong value for anyone interested in Kojima's unusual mix of exploration and narrative.
Players who liked the first game's slow-burn delivery loop, because this sequel keeps the core concept while adding more combat, detail, and story twists.
Story-driven players who want unusual sci-fi worlds, because the game leans hard into striking visuals, weird originality, and strong world-building.
Players who enjoy long, methodical campaigns, because the game offers difficulty options, delivery challenges, and a large amount of content to sink into.
Players who want a cinematic single-player experience, because the story and presentation are strong enough to feel like a movie-length purchase.
Players who bounced off the first game's pacing, because this sequel still keeps the same delivery-focused structure even with more combat.
Players looking for a straightforward action game, because the experience still plays partly like a walking, driving, and riding simulator.
Players who want a conventional or broadly accessible story, because the sequel is a direct continuation that assumes familiarity and leaves out context.
Players who dislike strange, experimental storytelling, because the game's originality can feel unhinged and more bizarre than inspired.

But really the only reason why is because I don't feel like turning my chair 45 degrees to play PS5. Steam is just too damned convenient when I'm chained to this desk all day. And that should be ironic because I really like the physical ownership of games. PC also almost always has better performance.
I'm in for one.
