Definitely not a game for everyone, but the story is really interesting and weird and it's super chill, almost a comfy horror game if that makes sense. The exploration reminds me a little bit of Red Dead Redemption 2 which is another of my favorite games.
Community Reviews
Death Stranding 2 builds on the first game with more combat, a larger map, and more gameplay depth while keeping the package delivery core. The story, characters, visuals, and world building draw strong praise, and the sequel is described as more fun and improved in most areas, with a memorable final battle. It still leans into the series' strange, cinematic style and partly retains the walking and transport feel, so the concept remains niche. At $29.99, it lands as a strong value for anyone interested in Kojima's unusual mix of exploration and narrative.
The sequel keeps the A-to-B delivery concept while adding much more combat focus than the first game.
The game offers multiple difficulty levels and delivery challenges that can emphasize story on easier settings.
The experience can feel almost co-op through shared builds and indirect interaction within a server group.
The $29.99 price point is described as tempting for players who plan to play only once.
The game may not appeal to players who disliked the first game's gameplay loop, even if the story is interesting.
The sequel can still feel partly like a walking or transport simulator, with vehicles used most of the time.
The deal price may not stay consistent, since the price reportedly returned to $54.99.
The creative tone may feel unhinged or bizarre rather than inspired, which could limit enjoyment for some players.

It has a good story too with quite a few interesting twists. It is a direct sequel to the first one so there are a lot of references to the first game. I didn't play the first one so I can't fully appreciate the story.
For $30, it's a great deal!
