This refurbished Dyson V15 Detect Total Clean Extra stands out for its laser soft roller and fluffy head, which make hidden dust, hair, and lint obvious on hardwood, tile, and other hard floors. The fluffy roller is repeatedly described as a big upgrade over a brush roller, especially for deep cleaning. The main drawback is the 90 day warranty, which feels short for a cordless vacuum with a battery that can wear out and be hard to replace. A solid pick if the laser cleaning gimmick is exactly what you want.
Common Questions (5)
The 90-day warranty is a major downside for a cordless vacuum that can fail or need battery replacement later. A 2-year warranty from Dyson's refurbished eBay listings is often viewed as worth the extra cost, especially if you plan to use the vacuum heavily.
Yes. The fluffy roller makes a big difference on hard floors, and the laser/soft roller is especially good on tile and hardwood because it exposes hidden dust and hair. The standard brush roller is less effective on hard floors.
Yes, the laser clearly reveals dirt on hard floors and makes hidden dust and hair much more visible. It can also be annoying because it shows how much dirt is actually there.
Yes. The battery and filters can be hard to get from Dyson, with reports of both being out of stock, and the vacuum can throw a "dirty filter" message when internal nozzles get gunked up. There are also no adapters for using power-tool batteries.
The thread asks about both versions, but the pictures are not clear enough to confirm which fluffy head is included. The key difference shoppers are checking for is whether it has the older laser on/off switch or the newer version.
