Almost everyone I've talked to both loves and hates the laser. They love how well it shows the dirt, and they also hate how well it shows the dirt,

This refurbished Dyson V15 Detect Total Clean Extra stands out for its laser soft roller and fluffy head, which make hidden dust, hair, and lint obvious on hardwood, tile, and other hard floors. The fluffy roller is repeatedly described as a big upgrade over a brush roller, especially for deep cleaning. The main drawback is the 90 day warranty, which feels short for a cordless vacuum with a battery that can wear out and be hard to replace. A solid pick if the laser cleaning gimmick is exactly what you want.

  • The fluffy roller heads can make a noticeable difference on hard floors.

  • The laser and soft roller can reveal hidden dust and hair on tile and hardwood floors.

  • The refurb v15 can deliver strong battery life after about a year of use.

    CheapskateNate

  • The fuzzy roller can work much better than a brush roller on hard floors.

    Soyfilib

  • The refurbished warranty can be limited to about 90 days, which feels risky for some buyers.

    BeigeLake5822FutureproofImGeoThe_Sandster

  • Internal nozzles can get gunked up and trigger a "dirty filter" message when replacement filters are out of stock.

    gamabunta

  • Battery replacement can be difficult because battery availability may be limited to Dyson direct and can be out of stock.

    gamabunta

  • The laser feature can be polarizing because it both shows dirt clearly and makes dirt visibility more noticeable.

Great deal for this model but if you want something with more oomph then go with the Dyson animal ball 3 for under $200 on eBay refurbished

Can anyone confirm which fluffy head this is? Just want to know if it's the older one, with the on/off switch to turn on the laser, or the newer version.

Can't quite tell based on the pictures. TIA 🙏🏻

Got this also refurbished for $330 from Dyson's ebay page. Wonder if the extra $50 is worth the 2year warranty vs this 90day?
Your mileage may vary. My luck with Woot has always been 90%. What I mean is whatever I buy from there always has some kind of problem that is too small to return it and big enough to be an annoyance.

You definitely want a fuzzy roller for hard floors. Works great and much better than the brush roller.
I second that notion!

The (way too) short warranty period kills it for me.

Where does it say we can buy an extended warranty via Amazon? I see no such option at check out. I feel like a square trade warranty is probably available? Are these third party refurb or Dyson refurbished?
On the product page Features section, under the Shipping Note, you will find 'Optional Asurion Protection Plan'
