Yes its not instant..it takes about 3 secs to get its actual temp reading. They say "instant" because if you ever use those analog ones. The dial takes like 1 min for the temp

I just bought the orange one...said 5.99, but came up in checkout as $4.19 plus tax...there was a 1.80 coupon applied in the cart somehow.
