I just don't understand why we need to make it more complicated than peanuts and salt. Hydrogenated oils are bad for our health and palm oils are bad for the environment.

This is a deal website, meaning pricing, no one needs to hear opinions unless it's actually useful to the product....aka quality, does it break easily, reliable etc.

Snobby nonsensical posts are running rampant lately.

Skippy Natural Creamy Peanut Butter Spread is
made with real roasted peanuts, but it is technically apeanut butter spreadrather than standard "peanut butter". It contains added ingredients—sugar, palm oil, and salt—to prevent separation and ensure a smooth, no-stir texture. It is considered a "natural" product because it contains no artificial flavors, colors, or preservatives.

This is the best peanut butter. Only kind I will purchase. Also the super chunk version is good as well. It's one of the lowest carb options out there.

The "spread" is because of the palm oil. It doesn't use fully hydrogenated oils, so it must be labeled as "spread" per FDA rules. The standard "non-natural" peanut butters usually use a fully hydrogenated vegetable oil like soybean/rapeseed combo.
The added sugar is overall, low compared to other snacks or food items you may be consuming. You can have 1 12oz coke, or, 24 tablespoons of peanut butter, and your sugar content would still be lower than the coke.

Some people don't want the hassle of dealing with the stirring and hardening of just peanut butter and salt ingredients.
I am sure we are all making "bad for health, bad for environment" choices that surpass your peanut butter choice.
I like this peanut butter. If it will make you people feel better, I'll plant some pollenator wildflowers in a section of my yard to save some bees to net my eco-meter back to neutral, so I can continue using this particular peanut butter product.

Sorry, Peanut Butter Spread product.

I make RKT regularly for my kids, and ALWAYS ADD PB! It lessens the overly sweet marshmallow flavor.

It isn't considered natural by anyone but Skippy, so they can make people think it actually is natural peanut butter. Real natural peanut butter only has peanuts and sometimes salt. Skippy wants to lie about that because real natural peanut butter is sought.

Skippy took out all the peanut butter oil and obviously resold it - because peanut oil is valuable. They sure as heck didn't throw it out.

Heck, It's so good, I'm going to skip skippy's, and just buy palm oil direct so I can down it.

It's not less than 90% peanuts.

Quote from bb6619 :

They can't call it peanut butter because soybean producers lobbied the FDA to exclude palm oil as an oil substitute.

90% ground peanuts + 10% (sugar + vegetable oil) = Peanut butter.
90% ground peanuts + 10% (sugar + palm oil) = Peanut spread.

Literally no difference except one is hydrogenated vegetable oil and the other is natural palm oil and you've convinced yourself that the vegetable oil is healthier because some palms at the FDA got greased decades ago.
