Because it's only for glass, not paint.

Anyone can chime in on this vs quartz ceramic coating? Why is this so cheap?

Its probably cheap because it doesn't work well. I saw reviews about hazing and wipers npt working properly. Idk about Quartz but carnuba has always been great on windshields and tailight/headlights it just doesn't last as long as ceramics

I put quartz on my windshield a year or two ago and thought it would last longer but the car lives outside. I bought some of the griots because it seemed to do well with other products on YouTube videos but haven't tried it yet. I don't expect it to be as good as quartz but it's also a fraction of the price

I bought this on a recent SD:

I was pleasantly surprised. Works great on repelling rain and letting it just roll off the window. My old wiper blades worked like they were new. Also lasted for about 2-3 months. I will definitely get it again. Unfortunately I can't speak for this exact product as I have never used it. Not sure how similar they are.

SiO2 based ... not true ceramic coating - this is the stuff they put on during maintenance washes for ceramic finished vehicles. It does do well, just won't last more than a few months, and a month on average.
Also true ceramic coatings are put on layer after layer to create that protection layer. The number of layers is what delegates cost from most installers - Different ceramic coating brands have their own warranty policies and how many coats are needed to meet each tier and longevity.

How long would it last? Help with dusty situation? Looking at applying it on a Tesla glass roof - but what's the benefit of this as opposed to using a ceramic wax/sealant alongside every car wash or two?
