Polk markets these as "Outdoor" speakers because they come in a weatherproof enclosure with built-in wall mounts, but they are perfectly usable as surrounds or Atmos (heights or on-ceiling) channels indoors when crossed over to your subwoofer(s) if WAF requires a compact form factor and if budget is limited.
Having a decent-sized 5.25" woofer means you don't get the thin, tinny sound of 4.5" or smaller single-woofer speakers. You also get a capable 1" tweeter (not the lousy 1/2" or 3/4" tweeters of tiny speakers). Result: solid 90db sensitivity and respectable 50Hz mid-bass extension, which means you can use it with the standard 80Hz high pass crossover point not 100 or 120Hz as requried by lesser speakers that will result in some male voices coming out of your subwoofer.
