Generally speaking, these style have thicker walls, stronger lids (for stacking), and are larger (66qt is only 16.5 gallon vs 27 gallons here).

They are way way more resistant to UV light and do not become brittle with time. It's not even close in terms of durability especially if they are ever outdoors. (in addition to @IndigoWintter's thicker/stronger points)

To expand even further: They're made from completely different materials to start with.

The clear ones are usually a PVC or composite PVA, while the solid color ones use HDPE.

Clear HDPE does exist, but it's not very transparent and it costs more.

Since you can't really see what's inside, it kind of defeats the purpose.
