A lot of the comments in the previous post mention WFH and meetings. For that use case, if you're just looking for better mic controls, a USB mic with a mute button may be better and cheaper. A podcasting specific audio interface like the Focusrite Vocaster (I got the Vocaster One Studio for $50 on a previous deal) gives XLR, physical volume controls and excellent audio quality. I've used mine on a PC, Mac, and iPad. If you just want the buttons and knobs, the Razer Stream Controller is actually just a rebranded Loupedeck and seems to still be available at around $150.
