Who buys luggage with in-line skate wheels instead of rollers anymore? I have some old ones, and can't get anyone to take them for free. And this one is $40??

It depends where you're going. The skate wheels hold up way better than the rollers if you're dragging them across cobblestone roads at vacation destinations.

I agree that these wheels hold up better than the spinner wheels and i believe you get more luggage space because the spinner wheels add another 1-2 inches to carry on luggage size.

I prefer these wheels, actually, and not only because they accommodate world travel better and are less exposed/more durable. I find these much more maneuverable in crowded environments like airports. Plus, I can't help but think all the air crew members have a good reason to use this type exclusively.
