I actually bought a Gen 3 System from Amazon and had it sent to my FPO address for use in Japan a few months ago. I've been using it on my ship when we pull into several different ports and it has been working so well to power our mesh wifi network.. Typically pulling down 250-400mbps. I activated that system once I received it in Japan and signed up for the Roam - Unlimited plan in Japanese Yen (With the exchange rate, slightly under $100/mo). We've been averaging about 4-7TB of data usage per month and no slowdowns noticed. I believe I can use it in a different country for up to 2x months before it has to connect from its "home" country (Japan in this case). I was so impressed with the performance of that system over the last several months, that I just got home and bought/activated a mini system today. Signed that one up under a different email account (All system on one account must be activated in the same country) and activated this one in the US. I've been playing with it this afternoon, mounting it in the moonroof of my F-150: Works great, DC power from the CLA in my truck: No problemo, and even used a USB-C to Starlink adapter cable and am powering it off of a 100WHr battery bank and it is pulling 300mbps down right now in rural NH.
I'm going to keep the mini in my truck, activated under the $50/mo 100GB Roam plan so I can make phone calls/FaceTime/play on the internet wherever I find myself in northern NH - Where cell signal isn't the most reliable (or existent) at times haha. This technology is a game-changer and blows me away with its capabilities and reliability (It literally drops signal less often than my Spectrum service).
