I have liked most of orico's products, but keep in mind this is a dock, not a enclosure. i.e. no protection at all for your drives. While SSD's do fit, it technically bottlenecks them (1 gbps slower, theoretically).

For most people it is safer to just have each drive in its own enclosure, unless you just have a lot of drives.

and in today's market, thats a lot of $$$. Replacement costs surely outweigh just having separate enclosures for safety.

this to me is a better deal. It comes out a little bit cheaper, but it actually has a cover. if you hate it that much, just dont use it, but at least one exists for you to use.

You are right, it's the same thing WITH a lid, and cheaper at $16.98 at amazon.com/ORICO-Toolfree-External-Enclosure-Support/dp/B00GAML7OK/ref=ast_sto_dp_pu

This is a very handy device for someone who has to deal with a lot of different hard drives on a short-term basis, like someone who works in IT, computer repair, or data recovery.

Been buying Orico's HDD Docks for years, no complaints. That being said, I would much rather have a dual-bay/bit-for-bit copier. They do make them, though they cost a little more.

I am looking for something like this that is reliable and supports larger drives. Some of the reviews seems to indicate that the device does not last that long. If not these, are there better options?
