They aren't as powerful and direct as a turbo duster, but they still move a high volume of air, just over a wider area. Way more air than traditional handheld fans. I was skeptical when I first realized it wasn't a duster but I've actually found uses for it occasionally. I still don't think I'd go out of my way to buy one, but if you're in the market for a portable fan it will work well.
