If anyone here is knowledgeable with this sort of stuff. I have a Corsair RM850x Gold power supply from 2021. It's in my main PC with a RTX 3070Ti. I just managed to get a 5070Ti from Amazon for under $850. Won't be delivered for a few weeks so I'm doing research and people recommend having a ATX3.0 or higher power supply for this card. Looking at the state of graphics cards, I would hate to do damage to my new card. Should I be looking for a more modern power supply like this one? On the other hand, the 5070Ti really only needs around 10 more watts than the 3070Ti. So maybe I'm ok?

Your new GPU may use the new 12 pin connector, so might need a new PSU that support the new connector (this one does)

If your new card comes with the 8-pin to 12v-2x6 (HWPWR) adapter, you should be ok.

Get the corsair 600W PCIe 5.1 12V-2x6 Type-4 PSU Power Cable for $20. I use a 850w on a 5080 and a 4080 with this adapter. No issues on the 4080 in 3-4 years and none with the 5080 either.

Thanks, picked one up, my PSU wont power my machine, happened 2 days ago. This seems like a good deal, just unfortunate from woot and delivery time is a week.

90-day warranty is horrendous for a PSU.

I've bought a handful of MSI power supplies for budget builds and a test bench. The Adata XPG Cybercore 1000W that I bought for my main PC appeared to be the same packaging (box, bag, inserts, etc) as the higher end MSI products. That's giving me the impression they are coming off the same lines and possibly the same high quality components.
