Having both Garmin (Epix Gen2 Sapphire), and Amazfit (T-Rex 3), you will not find a better smart watch than this at this price point. You would need to spend double (or more) on a Garmin with these specs and functionality. I love my Garmin, but this is a very good deal.

Our community has rated this post as helpful. If you agree, why not thank avalon

if they ever make all the features work as advertised it will be a great deal

hopefully will make Garmin rein in their insane prices

DC Rainmaker says Amazfit is good but not great

I have the Amazfit Balance and really like it, it's gotten better since I bought it. These watches evolve as the software updates roll out. I usually get 10+ days of battery life.

I had a t-rex 2 for about 2.5 years. Paid around $200. I liked the battery life (10 days) and the features at first. After 1.5-2 years the sleep tracking quit. At 2.5 years the touch screen stopped working and within a month the screen went dark forever. I disliked the lack of software updates after a year. I didn't baby it, and it held up for a while.

I now have a Bip 6 which does more stuff for $65. The first one I got died within a week, the second is going on 3 months. Battery lasts maybe 5 days. Can't find a decent case for it. T rex needed nothing more than a flat glass screen protector. For $65 I'll just run it into the ground. I like to control Bluetooth speaker track and volume from the pool, so long as my phone is near. I wish it had zepp pay and that I could originate a text, but everything else is good. Battery life is fair at best. I'm tempted by this t rex 3 pro if it can do zepp pay and send texts over Bluetooth.

Smartwatch features will probably be quite a bit better on Amazfit. Such as being able to answer phone calls by talking into your watch. Or dictating text replies into the watch. Garmin app is better, especially with exercise, and probably heart rate monitor. Not sure about the Rex, but sleep tracking on my cheaper Amazfit is terrible compared to Garmin.

only thing even vaguely close to this price and features on the Garmin side is the Venu3 factory refurbished

Venu3 (and venu3s) is neat because it has maximum memory for a Garmin device and ECG

but it's only 3 physical buttons which is a showstopper for me, I want the full 5 forerunner/fenix experience

forerunner 165 is under $200 but missing a lot of features

265 refurb might be compromise

How does a used Fenix 6x Pro Solar compare? Random eBay listing at $200, but there are others at the same price: https://www.ebay.com/itm/397784313548

Samsung has 1 - 2 days battery life. Need I say more? YouTube reviews will further answer your question

Had an Amazfit watch when I 1st got into smart watches because I did not know any better. Switch to Garmin within 3 months. This was years ago, Im sure they have gotten better. But there are much better options out there.
