This CAP Adjustabell is a single 55 pound adjustable dumbbell that keeps a full size frame while leaving unused plates in the tray. It stands out as a space saving home gym option that still handles normal dumbbell work well, and the single unit format fits workouts that use one dumbbell at a time. The price is described as solid even for a pair, though the plates can wiggle and rattle a bit during exercises. The adjustment mechanism also needs the handle pushed down while turning in the dock, so it is a practical pick if you want adjustability and can live with a little mechanical fuss.
Common Questions (4)
It is a single adjustable dumbbell, not a pair. At $99, a pair would be about $198, which is still a reasonable price for two 55-lb adjustables.
The dumbbell keeps a full-size frame and leaves unused plates in the tray as you select lighter weights. That means the handle stays the same overall size instead of shrinking with the load.
It can have minor wiggle and plate rattle during exercises, but it still works well at the full 55-lb setting. That makes it usable for normal dumbbell movements, though not perfectly silent.
You need to push down on the handle and turn it while the dumbbell is in its dock. If the handle seems stuck, that is the normal adjustment motion rather than a defect.

I've never used adjustable dumbbells before - seeing in-store returns at Walmart is an option, I decided to pull the trigger.
.
Edit: im dumb. I re-read the instructions. You have to push down on the handle and turn handle while its in the dock.
