EGO's 42 inch Z6 stands out as a comfortable, powerful electric zero turn with strong long term reliability and enough battery for real yard work. Owners describe it as fun to drive, effective on thick grass, and useful for mulching and leaf cleanup, while EGO tools themselves have held up for years. The main knocks are the smaller 6Ah batteries in this bundle, which feel like a downgrade from larger packs and may not reach the advertised 2 acres without extra batteries. Delivery damage and weak phone app support also come up, making it a solid but not flawless package.

  • The mower can cut about two-thirds of an acre in summer while leaving roughly 40-50% battery remaining.

  • The mulching plug can help improve leaf cutting performance during fall sessions.

  • The mower can handle an acre of thick grass without negative issues during ongoing seasonal use.

  • The included battery setup can be viewed as an upgrade versus an older bundle that had fewer 10Ah batteries and empty slots.

  • The included 6.0Ah batteries can feel like a downgrade compared with bundles that include 10Ah or 12Ah packs.

  • The "up to 2 acres" runtime claim can be inaccurate, with reports of closer to about 55 minutes per roughly 0.9 acre using the included batteries.

  • Delivery through Amazon and FedEx can arrive with a mangled frame and scratches to blades or the undercarriage, even after refusal.

  • The phone app experience can be weak, and replacement batteries can be expensive over time.

I thought they were phasing this particular model out. I got the mower and charger for $400 around this time last year, and bought 6x 5ah batteries for around $900 when Lowe's had them on sale. Very happy with it
You got the mower and the charger for $400? Even with no batteries that's just nuts! I ended up with the package for $2000 including four 10Ah batteries and I thought that was the absolute best I was going to do, but apparently not.

I have one ...came with 4x10ah batteries
They claim up to 2 acres.... IT WONT DO IT!!
You will get 55 minutes/ 9/10 of an acre with that setup.
I had to add 2 more 6ah batteries to completely mow my 1 and1/2 acres
False advertising EGO
*Up to 2 acres.

They were technically accurate. Too many variables to guarantee it.

Amazon is a nightmare to deal with for mowers. I ordered from them after considering Ace's Hardware. Here's what went wrong:

1. They used FedEx to ship it - and it was improperly loaded on a 3'x4' palette. The driver asked if I had a forklift because they weren't prepared to deliver it to residential.
2. The frame it came in was mangled below the mower, with scratches all over the mowing blades and undercarriage. It was so obvious, the driver actually pointed it out and suggested I refuse delivery.
3. Despite refusing delivery, and watching the driver call it on speakerphone, both Amazon and FedEx marked it as Delivered!?!

I'm sure it will eventually get sorted, but initially Amazon support told me to check back in a couple days. I'll have $5K sitting on my credit card balance. They refused to follow up, it was on me to check back in 2 days to see if something updates in the system.

If you can get the mower at a brick and mortar, I recommend that over Amazon. It says ships and sold by Amazon but they used "the supplier's shipper" which can end up being FedEx.

I called up my in-laws, and we're going to the Ace in the next town, they have one in stock.

Meh, really ought to come with 6 x 10Ah or 6 x 12Ah batteries. They're cheaping out with the 6Ah batteries.
I think the main thought here is to have 6ah available to use for your other ego tools, if they give you 10ah or bigger then grandpa or the wife don't want to use the other ego tools bc the battery is so big and heavy. I went with the yardforce 42inch zero turn 1500 off door buster deal from Sam's club (was 3800 after tax and free shipping for plus members, regular msrp is like 5500+tax or so) bc it has a 100ah LiPo battery that can do probably 2 acres on highest blade speed and 4 acres on lowest blade speed and no need to move small batteries in and out, for me that's a plus. Bigger/better life span/more powerful battery than regular lithium ion. Delivery is 14th so I can't wait to put it to the 3 acre test around here. I was also considering the lymow one plus at 2500 bucks but the yardforce (no fumes, has, oil etc vs my other zero turbs) was just 2 good to pass up at 3800 shipped for up to 4 acres.
