Just plugged it into my MacBook and it works right away as expected. It looks like what I thought these cheap monitors would look like. It's fine, I'm not going to work with it all day long. My use is various devices that need a display occasionally. Like a laptop with a broken screen, a device with HDMI out that I want to see larger, etc. It's a tool. It is $40. You could order the 2 cables it comes with and pay $20 just for them. So if you are on the fence and need a device like this it's a no brainer. If you are buying it to do PS5 gaming in your car with an inverter and such you obviously should spend more on your display than a 2nd controller or an old 2nd tier game.
I am very happy with this purchase.

Makes sense. The prices on these have been plummeting so I haven't kept track. For my needs the flip cover is a nice to have.

My experience has been those covers that double as a stand end up tearing pretty easily. I ended up buying the stands that attached to the vesa mounts once the cover is worn down on 2 of these monitors that have covers.

Yeah, I bought the eBay Acer ones that pop up here from time to time, but no cover, so I grabbed a cheap anti-scratch felt protector bag, 15 inch. It works great and fits into my backpack to give the portable monitor better protection when lugging it around. I use the monitor with my Pixel 9 to have pretty much a full fledged laptop with me now. https://www.aliexpress.us/item/32...36450.html
