Obviously it's outdated AF but I was thinking of buying this and making it a Linux-based computer. Would that work out?

This is truly worthless unless you're as collector..then again if you were, you'd search for a cheaper one in pristine condition 3rdp

It's usable I guess.. if I hadn't just bought a neo I'd probably grab this if nothing else but for verification purposes if I lost my iPhone.. happened to me two years ago and couldn't get into anything because they couldn't verify me via device or phone number.. took weeks to get back into my iCloud account

This is ewaste. I mean, I'm sitting here trying to find a way to justify it. "Well maybe if this....or maybe if it's used like that...." Nope. Can't come up with a single scenario.

Not when late-2019 16" MBP i7 16gb/512gb systems can be found used for sub-$300....if you ever needed a vintage room-warmer running "Intel". Those things ran so hot, you could cook an egg on them just idling.

But this MBA is an even older Intel, with FAR lower specs, with much worse quality-of-life improvements. At least the late-2019 16" MBP has a non-butterfly keyboard, a fairly large and nice screen, excellent audio, and a giant trackpad. This machine has none of that. I'm not saying it's a GOOD machine....just better than this MBA. If you're going to compromise, at least get something half-way decent?

You can even get an entry-level MBA M1 8gb/256gb used for sub-$300, which will fly CIRCLES around both this poor performer listed above...and the aforementioned 2019 MBP.

You could argue "but $125 all I have to spend". And sure, I can't offer a solution to that. But spending twice as much will get you a machine that's still entirely usable and fully supported....versus this discontinued, End of Life'd, piece of ewaste. Buy cheap, buy twice.
