Something about this fundamental concept makes me extremely nervous.

Lithium 1.5V >>>> NiMH 1.2V especially for Series X/S controllers.

Thinking about these for my Blink outdoor cameras. Longevity compared to standard lithium's?

how would these hold up for use in a point and shoot camera like the kodak FZ45?

No. This type of battery needs USB or a special/dedicated charger.
Anything you put them in that can charge while in use won't work. People try them in solar lights all the time and are frustrated and write reviews about the failure. This points out they don't understand how they work.

Probably be fine. I have an old Canon camera that needs 4xAA. It EATS batteries and NiMh don't last long nor did alkaline. The 1.5v AA lithium work well.
As long as you understand that, go experiment.

Not as good as primary lithium. Energizer primary lithium AA=About 3000–3500 mAh at 1.5 V
If it's worth the trouble to charge them vs change them more often, might be worth a shot
See this review: https://www.amazon.com/gp/custome...tl?ie=UTF8
These are more like 1768 to 2010 mAh @400mA current from one review.

They do make things for this; they are battery shaped but are powered through AC power. They don't have any energy storage capacity so they only work plugged in, but can be useful if you just want to hard wire a battery-only device. It's kinda dorky lol
Look up eg "aa power supply adapter" or "battery eliminator"
Again: pretty limited use cases but for where it's useful it's magick lol

I have a bunch of low self discharge NiMH batteries, but they tend to put out only 1.2v. As I try to eliminate use of non-rechargeable batteries, I find devices that won't work (or work very long) with those 1.2v cells. These put out 1.5v and let me use rechargeables with those devices. Examples include a smart deadbolt that needs 4xAA, and a smart meat thermometer with a base station that needs 1xAAA.

I find that the mAh ratings of these USB batteries are inflated, and don't match up to quality NiMH batteries.
