I have this combo unit and I do not recommend it. I repeat, I do not recommend it. Yes, I cleaned the filters religiously. I even got a new filter because it had so many problems. The tech is not there yet. It's essentially a dehumidifier working as the dryer and i can guarantee you will run into problems. If you want to spend your money to test the product because you are an early-adopter, fine but be prepared to replace it after a few years.

I'm split on this. I have had one for over two years now. I think it's great and highly recommend it granted you stay on top of maintenance. I simply take a baby wipe after each cycle and wipe down all the lint that accumulates at the gasket, and clean out the drain pump filter once a month, as well as the main filter under some running water.

The main reason I would recommend against this is that R-134a is getting sunet due to EPA regualtions. I think we can expect next generation of these LG, Samsung, and GE (The main three heat pump all in one washer dryer units) are going to update their offerings and address a lot of their shortcomings this year. The main one is that LG and GE both lack automatic opening the door once the cycle is complete. We can also expect all of them to update their designs to better address the lint accumlation over the radiator. Lastly the next generation will move to R-290 which will need a different heat pump altogether that may require sensors (further pushing redesigns). If I had to go back and pick, I'd actually take the samsung since the clothes do come out feeling crispy dry (not just 95% dry), and the door automatically opens to let risidual humidity out.

For those on the fence, consider the above, in addition to your price point. The new units will absolutely not be cheap or anywhere close to this price.

Avoid this dryer like the plague. We got one and it's a disaster. When it works, it works okay. When it doesn't, you're in for a nightmare. Ours broke and because the technology is pretty new, there's nobody particularly qualified to fix it. Within the first year, it broke 3 times. The third time, LG sent someone out on 6 occasions and every time they said they had the right part this time and it would fix it - but it continued to not dry clothes and it continued to leak water. I wouldn't even buy this unit at $250.We have the separate LG made washer and heat pump dryer now and they work fantastic.
This is an all in one combo.

Have an older one. Love it. Pumps are a little finicky but replacements are like $15 and take all of 15 minutes if you are handy in the slightest.
You are definitely not talking about this model. This uses a heat-pump to dry. Much more cumbersome to repair.

I've had this for over a year. I absolutely love it. Having an all in one unit has been a game changer for me. I keep up with maintenance and have had no issues once I got going once installed water hammer arresters.
It does take a while to dry, but the time you save in between washing and drying, and the effort saved switching makes it worth it, especially over night. I can load it up with dirty clothes when I go to bed, and wake up to clean and dry clothes.

Is there any issue with washing/drying bedding and blankets with this unit?

Mine is a heat pump. The water pump is not part of the heat pump system. That system has never had an issue. Just the drain pump. No lint trap, all goes through the drain. We have two massive shedding dogs. I can't blame the pump with what we put it through.

Dumb question. Does this require dedicated washer/dryer outlet or can be plugged in any standard outlet??
