I don't see why anybody ever needs to replace these filters. I've blown them out and they were just fine

It really depends on the generic ones you get. I've had some good success with some filters but also have had some there were clearly inferior with thinner material. So if you find a decent generic, you can definitely get similar OEM like filters.

Any chance you can share your personal opinion on which ones you thought were good and which are not?

as one can get a refurbed c545 for $59 shipped that comes with one hepa filter and four carbon prefilters, I question those that think this is a good deal...

LifeSupplyUSA on eBay has been pretty solid when it comes to aftermarket filters. I've tried a few others but they were mostly no-name brands and they're no longer being sold. I also buy official Winix filters when they're on sale for cheaper than usual with credit card point deals. Ironically, I found the LifeSupplyUSA filters to actually be thicker and slighter better made and the official OEM filters.

Anyone else have theirs making high pitched sounds when it runs on high?
