Personally, I would rather go for an OG Z1E Ally over this. The Z2A is quite a bit weaker than the Z1E.

I ended up buying one of these.

Will this play all the latest games at high settings? No, but it's a nice supplemental handheld to your main gaming console/PC, particularly if you have Xbox/PC GamePass. Also Lenovo just gave their Legion Go 2 handhelds a significant price hike today and Sony their PlayStation consoles last week, so I feel like these deals may be fewer and farer between as components continue to skyrocket in price.

All of the "free" games have to be redeemed on Steam, just checked the terms and conditions for the promotion. I'm pretty sure a huge amount of Steam users and PC gamers are quite familiar with Loaded(aka cdkeys) so it's a good comparison. Only downside to using Loaded is there isn't a generous return policy like when purchasing games from Steam directly.

$500 should've been the starting price for this. Even then I'd still probably go for the Legion Go S.
This coming with a 512ssd and 16gb of ram is pretty fantastic. Lies of P and space marine 2 are great tie ins. If you look at it as like $400 (+games) I would say it's definitely worth a buy over some of the competition (msi claw, legion go (non-s), steamdeck oled)

Since you haven't been paying attention: gaming platforms have all seen multiple price increases over the past couple years. Nobody expects the Steam Machine to still launch this year. Steam Deck pricing has already gone up in several countries (about 20%) and most real gamers expect this won't be constrained to a single region.

512 GiB NVME is up ~3x over the past 6 months (spot price of ~$55, now $225)

DDR ram is similarly up ~3x over the same time period. While LPDDR5X hasn't seen the same yet, I'm sure it's fine and especially won't be affected by NVIDIA using it in their newer data center CPUs (like Vera Rubin) which use it.

Hilarious how confidently arrogant you are with your head in the ground.

It will play Fortnite. You can check YouTube for some Xbox Ally Fortnite benchmark videos to see the graphical quality and FPS you get on the device.

I had the ROG Ally 7" 120Hz FHD 1080p Gaming Handheld - AMD Ryzen Z1 Extreme Processor - 512GB and if I had it on 120hz, it would not skip and not render at any setting. Maybe I had a bad unit.
