Wow, this seems like a good deal. As a casual gamer, am I missing much compared to a Z1E? Is the Z2A much more energy efficient? Thanks in advance !

Personally, I would rather go for an OG Z1E Ally over this. The Z2A is quite a bit weaker than the Z1E.

edit: I meant Z2A, there is no Z1A

For casual or indie gamer it's powerful enough. Want to play triple A games, a handheld might not be enough if you want to experience all the bells and whistles.
