FAQ's:
- No, you cannot use Staples GC's to purchase these.
- No, these do not count towards your spend requirements for a premier membership.
- No, these do not earn you any Staples rewards.
- No, you cannot use coupons/ rewards to purchase these GC's.
- Yes, you can split payment between multiple cards (if your cashier permits it) YMMV
- The limit of 9 may or may not be enforced depending on your store/ cashier. YMMV
- Why is this a deal? Some members have CC's that earn 5% CB at office supply stores (INK and Amex Simply Cash). Others need to meet minimum CC spend.
- What if my store doesn't accept payment with a CC? Your store likely has had issues with fraud and it is managers discretion on what payment they will accept.
- Other chase cards may have special offers for Staples ($ limited). Check your chase account under chase offers.

Probably not. I believe that people on here have reported in the past that they were unable to buy gift cards using a prepaid card for payment.

the card issuer keeps declining my attempt to use it for my insurance bill - so I thought it would be worth a shot to draw off $200 and try it with another card, if it's just my card dependent.

Yes, I know it's in-store only. I was asking if it's live, because OP mentioned last week that it was removed from the ad.

if you cannot use it at several places you intend, it's reasonable to ask for cash. File a complaint with the issuer/CFPB

Have you tried to register the card with your name and address? Some transactions want to match the name and address of the accounts

When using these online, what info do you use for name and address (aka the billing info)

I have tried to use my prepaid credit cards, $200 value and $100 value, to pay for my medical insurance bill, and the charge was declined. My prepaid credit cards were purchased at Office Depot and the card balance can be checked at giftcardmall.com - which were issued by the same bank as the ones sold by Staples if I remembered correctly. I called the bank and was told that they were coded to decline insurance payments. I don't think getting these $200 cards at Staples would help you with insurance payments. Sorry that I am in the similar situation. But I was able to use them to pay my utility bills.

Another thing about insurance bill is that the insurance company can categorize the charge as 'recurrent' even auto-pay is not checked. Almost all prepaid credit card banks decline charges categorized as 'recurrent'.

Regarding to buying other prepaid credit cards or gift cards using prepaid credit cards, my experience varies. If the merchant is an obvious gift card seller, such as giftcards, com or egift.com, the charge was declined. If not, the charge went through. For example, I was able to buy prepaid credit cards at HEB supermarket using prepaid credit cards.

Once you bought these cards, you need to register them online with your name and address at the website from the back of the card. When you use them online, you will put in the exact same name and address as your billing information. You cannot use them online if you don't register. Some stores sell prepaid credit cards that don't give you a way to register and those prepaid credit cards can only be used in store. The prepaid credit cards sold in Staples and Office Depot should still allow you to register.
