FAQ's:
- No, you cannot use Staples GC's to purchase these.
- No, these do not count towards your spend requirements for a premier membership.
- No, these do not earn you any Staples rewards.
- No, you cannot use coupons/ rewards to purchase these GC's.
- Yes, you can split payment between multiple cards (if your cashier permits it) YMMV
- The limit of 9 may or may not be enforced depending on your store/ cashier. YMMV
- Why is this a deal? Some members have CC's that earn 5% CB at office supply stores (INK and Amex Simply Cash). Others need to meet minimum CC spend.
- What if my store doesn't accept payment with a CC? Your store likely has had issues with fraud and it is managers discretion on what payment they will accept.
- Other chase cards may have special offers for Staples ($ limited). Check your chase account under chase offers.

Once you bought these cards, you need to register them online with your name and address at the website from the back of the card. When you use them online, you will put in the exact same name and address as your billing information. You cannot use them online if you don't register. Some stores sell prepaid credit cards that don't give you a way to register and those prepaid credit cards can only be used in store. The prepaid credit cards sold in Staples and Office Depot should still allow you to register.

That's not true across the board. For example, you can use these to reload your Amazon GC balance without registering. And I've used unregistered cards to pay insurance premiums online with multiple insurers.

Last time when I bought this, I had a hard time using my last $4.8. You cannot buy gift cards (Starbucks, target, Walmart, Amazon) under $5 now. My utility companies want minimum of $2.99 or $3.99 fee. Will only buy these VISA cards if there's no other option, like card bonus requirement and I'm running out of time .

I used the Prepaid Visa cards today to purchase some Costco Gift cards in the warehouse today. After paying, the cashier asked to see my Driver's License and wrote down my license # and the transaction #. Before ringing up my Costco cash cards, I already showed them my Costco membership with my pic already. Just curious if this is Costco policy cus its never happened before when buying Costco gc and pay with Prepaid Visa.

These auto drain at many B&M stores - supermarkets, drug stores, Costco, etc. Online is a different story.

How does that work? is it by adding to costco account beforehand and pay using the app barcode with card attached? if it has $4, it will take $4 first and then prompt you to pay remaining? this would be great.

No need to use the app. Swipe the GC at the POS and it will drain. You'll be prompted to use another card to pay the balance.

Oh, yeah, the virtual cards aren't as easy to use, even after registering them.

the card issuer keeps declining my attempt to use it for my insurance bill - so I thought it would be worth a shot to draw off $200 and try it with another card, if it's just my card dependent.
If the card is AMEX, you can complain to CFPB. Then the CFPB will contact AMEX and issue you a check.

When using these online, what info do you use for name and address (aka the billing info)
You need to register the card to use online. When you do, you input your address.
