I believe I clicked the main link, then clicked open account on the promo, then logged in and then I think there was an option to enroll my current account or create a new account if I'm remembering correctly.
I am an existing CIT customer and these are the steps i had to follow to add this promo:
go to https://www.cit.com/citboost
click "get started"
enter your userID and pw on the right where it says "Already a CIT customer?"
(must be the primary account holder to be able to do this)
after the login it will have you accept some terms and you should see the confirmation page.
is this rate only for the next 6 moths or will stay like amex savings?
I mean i understand, rate can drop from 4% to 3.5 or go up a but, but will they drop to something like 0.50% like the other banks?
Amex savings stay around 3.5 to 4.5% for years.
I just logged into my cit account and they were two options. One to enroll my account in the bonus (showed the last four account numbers) and the other was to open a new account. I just clicked My account and then enroll and there was some fine prints accept. Then I got an error after accepting but when I went back through and did it again it said I was already accepted in it.
For those who've had one of these accounts for a while, how steady is the APY? I have one with Amex and every month it goes down 0.1%. Thinking about switching, though I like Amex otherwise.

-i've had an account with them since 2022 and it's been fairly competitive the whole time. I think it started with 5 and change and inched down to 3.75 over the years with every fed rate cut. It has been 3.75 for a long time now though and this boost makes it a pretty solid deal.
Worked for existing accounts (have yet to see the rate reflect on my account though).
Personally, I find CIT to be a great option. It consistently offers top-tier savings rates, and while ACH transfers can be a bit slow, there is a significant hidden perk: outgoing wire transfers are free if your balance is $25,000 or more. Just keep in mind that they do require a $1,000 minimum per wire to qualify.
