I am an existing CIT customer and these are the steps i had to follow to add this promo:
go to https://www.cit.com/citboost
click "get started"
enter your userID and pw on the right where it says "Already a CIT customer?"
(must be the primary account holder to be able to do this)
after the login it will have you accept some terms and you should see the confirmation page.
I saw the confirmation page that said I was enrolled. But when I checked my account details, it still says 3.682%. Does it take time to update?

Tried again and got this:

You are already enrolled!
We have confirmed your enrollment in the promotion named below.

That is nice... but it is only for $20k. I like having my money in a brookage account such as Merrill Edge, and then buying the money market funds if I need to store any cash.
Must use their debit card 15 times a month, have dd, and estatements. That first requirement is a hard pass for me. Thanks, though.

so... this seems to be for rich people... 4.10% APY* on balances $5,000 or more....

BUT what happens after the sixmonths?

My account is paying right now... 3.66% for any amount of money! Not this bullshit $5k.
.. while it is not a 4.1%... the difference is not enough for me to consider this deal.
The current reg rate is 3.75% with $5K. With the bonus 0.35% brings it to 4.1% for 6 mo. After 6mo, it will go back to 3.75% or whatever the rate is at the time. If you have $5k, it's better than your current rate.

For those who've had one of these accounts for a while, how steady is the APY? I have one with Amex and every month it goes down 0.1%. Thinking about switching, though I like Amex otherwise.
I have used CIT bank as my primary savings for many years. They tend to be competitive -- and if they are not & you start to move $ out, they will often give you an offer as others have mentioned - a 0.25% to 0.5% 1 YEAR bump from your current rate.
The thing I really like about CIT is that they have very large in/out daily limits, and ACH $ fast --- usually 1 biz day.

Because I live in a state that doesn't pay state taxes so it doesn't matter to me. Also, I only need to have a low minimum and no need for direct deposit either.

Have had my rainy day money in CIT since Sept 2023. My rate has always been greater than 4% for that entire time. Current interest rate is 4.162%, Last statement APY was 4.25%. My biggest regret is not moving money out of BOA savings 15 years ago.

I opened my CIT savings account in June of 2023 at 5ish% and I'm only getting 3.75 now. Why is yours still high while mine has steadily gone down?

It may be better... but I would have to sell, pay capital gains tax and then open an account, get a hard pull on my credit and transfer my money and I think it is too much of a hassel. I prefer my 3.68% and again, NO LIMITS.

Have you done the transfer trick to see if they offer you a better rate? I do that every couple months to see if I can get an offer to increase it.

If you don't know the trick all you do is click "Transfers" when looking at your account. Next screen type in an amount that would wipe out the amount you have in CIT. Hit one time and transfer button. If you get a new screen with an offer you can choose to accept it. If you get a pop up to confirm transfer you didn't get an offer.
