I'm sure this is a quality product, but I can't get past the notion that it looks like a helmet wearing a helmet.

A little funny looking, sure, but I can tell you from personal experience that it will protect your melon. I took a spill where I broke three ribs and my helmet hit the ground as hard as my chest/shoulder did, but my head was fine. Purchased for the same price directly from Specialized almost exactly one year ago.

I got these for my 9 and 11 yo boys who have big heads and have outgrown their kids sized helmets. IMO they don't look as weird in person. My kids like them a lot and can adjust it themselves which is a huge win.
